Purposeful Work, Balanced Life
Articling students are trusted members of our team from day one. You won’t be sitting on the sidelines or stuck doing routine tasks — you’ll be involved in high-quality, substantive legal work that challenges you and builds your skills. From drafting materials for court to attending client meetings and working alongside experienced lawyers on complex files, your articling experience at Lerners will prepare you for real-world practice in a supportive and collaborative environment.
We also understand that your life outside the office is important. We encourage balance, knowing that a well-rounded life makes for a stronger, more resilient lawyer.
Guidance for Growth
We believe articling is more than a requirement — it’s a foundation for a successful legal career. That’s why we prioritize mentorship, both formal and informal, to ensure you get the most out of your articling experience.
You’ll be paired with dedicated mentors who will support your development, provide feedback, and help you navigate the transition from student to lawyer. Our goal is to make sure you’re fully prepared to practice law with confidence and competence when your articles are complete — and we’ll be with you every step of the way.

OUR STUDENT RESOURCES TEAM
Tiffany Lau leads and manages the firm’s student program, beginning with the recruitment process and continuing through all aspects of the students’ firm experience, including onboarding, training, mentorship, performance evaluations, and career development.
Andrea Catlin has been a valued Lerners team member for over 20 years. In directing assignments to legal students, she considers their workload and the type of experience each student has or needs and assigns projects accordingly. Andrea’s approach ensures that by the end of their term, each student has worked with a variety of lawyers on different tasks and in most of the major areas of law we practice.
