Big Law, Small City Charm
Are you looking to build a rewarding career that strikes a balance between professional distinction and personal fulfillment?
At Lerners, we believe in nurturing well-rounded professionals. Our articling experience challenges you to grow as a lawyer while giving you space to enjoy life beyond your legal career. We want our students to thrive — not just in the courtroom or boardroom — but in everything they choose to pursue.
We Pride Ourselves on Developing Tomorrow's Lawyers
Since 1929, Lerners has welcomed generations of law students who began their careers with us. Our commitment to legal excellence is matched only by our dedication to teaching and mentoring. You won’t just observe — you will participate and collaborate on challenging files to evolve into the lawyer you aspire to be.
Why London?
Our London office offers the opportunity to engage in sophisticated legal work within a full-service firm, while enjoying the dynamic energy of a vibrant city rich in cultural attractions and expansive green spaces. Here you’ll find:
High-quality legal work on diverse files with the support of experienced mentors.
Affordable housing and manageable commutes.
A workplace culture that welcomes collaboration and friendships.
Money Talks
Our London articling students receive a competitive salary in the upper end of the pay scale for London firms. In addition to receiving their salary during articles, students will also be paid for 15 days while they are studying for and writing their licensing examinations.
London articling students also receive comprehensive dental and extended health coverage, a fitness/travel allowance and payment of their LSO licensing fees.
Professional and Personal Development
We’re continuously improving how we work, mentor, and grow. You will benefit from our robust onboarding and in-house training programs, personalized feedback and mentorship, and our ongoing efforts to further equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and legal profession. Our collegial and supportive environment is designed to help you develop critical legal skills within a culture that invites curiosity, rewards initiative, and celebrates community and diversity.
Plus, many articling students give back through firm charity events, local volunteer work, or serving on community boards. While launching your career as a lawyer, you can help shape a better community.
Hands-on Experience with Real Impact
You’ll work side-by-side with associates and partners at all levels of seniority.
Expect meaningful work, courtroom exposure, and opportunities to learn practice management directly from lawyers with deep expertise.
We’re looking for students who:
Bring a passion for advocacy.
Attend to the details.
Are organized and able to manage their time.
Enjoy life outside their legal career.
Mentorship that Matters
Mentors frequently check in, grab lunch, or simply lend a listening ear. Each articling student is matched with a Junior Mentor, an associate lawyer who answers questions and provides day-to-day support and a Senior Mentor, a partner who offers career guidance, coaching, and participates in your formal evaluations.
Beyond students’ formal mentors, all our lawyers welcome the opportunity to connect with our articling students. From litigation techniques to career strategies, we’re here to help you grow.

OUR STUDENT RESOURCES TEAM
Tiffany Lau leads and manages the firm’s student program, beginning with the recruitment process and continuing through all aspects of the students’ firm experience, including onboarding, training, mentorship, performance evaluations, and career development.
