Shannon Gaudet is a partner with the Specialty Risk and Insurance group in Toronto. She has over 10 years of experience in civil litigation and significant trial and appellate experience in a wide range of areas, including specialty insurance coverage, health law, insurance litigation, and professional regulation. She has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and various administrative tribunals.

With an insurance practice that balances advisory work with litigation and dispute resolution, Shannon assists insurers on most aspects of coverage, including opinions and guidance during the investigation of complex claims. She also defends insurers and insureds in claims relating to municipal and public entity liability and provides representation in matters involving errors and omissions, directors’ and officers’, general commercial, and occupier’s liability; as well as motor vehicle accidents; and allegations of professional negligence.

Shannon acts for members of various regulated health colleges, including physicians, psychologists, dentists, respiratory therapists, and medical radiation and imaging technologists. She advances their best interests in civil litigation claims alleging negligence; in matters relating to informed consent, human rights, and privacy breaches; and in regulatory matters relating to fitness to practise, and consent and capacity.
