Riya Patel is an Associate in Lerners’ London office, where she maintains a broad litigation practice with a focus on commercial litigation and health law.

Before pursuing law, Riya earned an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences with a specialization in Biology from Western University. Her scientific background sparked a strong interest in the intersection of healthcare, science, and the law.

Riya received her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor. During law school, she was actively involved in legal aid services and mental health and wellness initiatives, experiences that reinforced her commitment to client advocacy and informed her thoughtful, client-centred approach to legal practice.

Raised in London, Ontario, Riya is proud to serve the community in which she grew up. Her multicultural background has shaped her appreciation for diverse perspectives and enables her to approach each client’s matter with understanding and respect. Riya is conversational in both Hindi and Gujarati.
