Lerners Partners Team Up For New Western Law Course

We are excited to share that two Lerners partners, Mark McAuley and Mitch Brown, have been invited back to teach their new course at Western University’s Faculty of Law. The course, titled “The Private Practice of Law,” aims to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and the practical realities of private practice and was first taught last fall to glowing reviews.
Reflecting on their early careers, Mark and Mitch emphasize the importance of mentorship in translating academic knowledge into practical skills. Their new course offers students a comprehensive overview of private practice, covering essential topics such as client management, billing, time management, mental health, business development, and marketing.
By sharing their personal experiences and practical strategies, Mark and Mitch provide invaluable insights into the day-to-day challenges and rewards of a legal career. This course not only prepares students for the realities of private practice but also aims to foster a culture of mentorship and continuous learning within the industry.
