Lerners celebrated as Environmental Steward of the Year at Green Leaders Awards 2025
Apr 21, 2025
On April 16, 2025, Lerners lawyers and staff, members of the firm’s Environment & Sustainability Committee, had the privilege of attending the annual Green Leaders Awards banquet hosted by the London Environmental Network and Green Economy London. The Green Leaders Awards is a fantastic evening celebrating environmental stewardship, leadership, and advocacy in our community. Lerners was honoured to be named as a finalist in the Environmental Steward of the Year category this year, recognizing a member’s involvement, participation, and leadership in projects and actions that positively impact the community and ecosystems of London and surrounding areas.
It was such an honour that Lerners was chosen as the recipient of the award and named the Environmental Steward of the Year. We are so grateful for this recognition of the firm’s efforts, lead by its Environmental & Sustainability Committee, over the past year including the following events, initiatives, and activities:
Eliminating plastic water bottles
Installing water-efficient aerators, and switching to energy-saving LED lighting
Supporting biodiversity through pollinator gardens and planting initiatives while protecting waterways with LittaTraps and clean-ups at Harris Park and the Thames River.
Hosting bike giveaways to promote sustainable transportation in the community, and an environmental speaker series for our firm members, inspiring eco-friendly practices.
Being recognized as a bike-friendly business, we encouraged others to prioritize sustainability.
Together, these initiatives enhanced our local ecosystem, promoted environmental stewardship, and fostered community engagement, all contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future.
It is such a great privilege to be recognized with this award, especially when considering the incredible company we were in with all of the other finalist, including the great work that MTE Engineers does in our community for the environment every year. I also want to congratulate all of the finalists and the other award winners including our friends and partners Thames Talbot Land Trust, Heeman’s, Community Living London, London Bicycle Café, Dough EV, ALUS Middlesex, Green Tech Painting and Shely Kagan.
Lerners also wants to extend a big thank you and congratulations to London Environmental Network and Green Economy London for their leadership in coordinating and inspiring individuals, business, and not for profit organizations across the community to invest in protecting the environment and improving sustainability in everything we do. We cannot wait to continue growing and learning as a sustainable member of the London community for many years to come.
