She approaches each case uniquely, but with a consistent level of empathy, responsiveness, and collaboration. She is known for forging good relationships with opposing counsel and wherever possible, taking a cooperative approach to resolving disputes.
In her Health Law Practice, Carolyn assists health care professionals with regulatory matters concerning informed consent, privacy and data protection, professional standards, and fitness to practice. She also acts for members of regulated professional health Colleges in complex civil litigation claims alleging negligence and battery.
Carolyn also sustains a broad commercial litigation practice, providing advice to the post-secondary education sector in employment and human rights law, privacy, and litigation. She has extensive experience in general and commercial liability claims and the law of negligence.
Carolyn holds an LLM in Health Law, having completed graduate-level coursework focused on mental health law, medical assistance in dying, consent and capacity, biotechnology, and pandemic law.
